Introduction

Knoc helps you and your neighbors share security camera footage privately so you can recover stolen property and help local police solve crimes faster. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the rules for using Knoc — what you agree to when you sign up, and what you can expect from us.

By using knoc.us, you agree to these Terms. If you don't, please don't use Knoc.

User Eligibility

Knoc is for adults. You need to be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement. By signing up, you're telling us you meet both.

Account Management

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for everything that happens under your account. If something looks off — a sign-in you don't recognize, a device you don't own — tell us right away at [email protected].

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent after a 30-day grace period — see our Privacy Policy for how data deletion works.

User Conduct

Use Knoc the way you'd want a neighbor to use it — respectfully and legally. The following will get an account suspended or removed:

• Anything illegal.
• Harassing, threatening, or intimidating other neighbors.
• Uploading or sharing content that's false, misleading, or violates someone else's rights.
• Using Knoc for something other than its intended purpose (helping your block stay safe).

If we determine you've broken these rules, we may suspend or end your account.

Content and Ownership

Any security camera footage or other content you upload to Knoc stays yours. By uploading it, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and share that content with the people you authorize — the neighbor who requested it, and local police, when you say so.

Sharing and Privacy

Knoc shares your footage only with the neighbors and police you authorize. Knoc never connects to your cameras directly and never sees a live feed. You control what gets uploaded and who can see it. For the full picture, read our Privacy Policy.

Security

We protect your information the way you'd hope a small, careful team would: encryption in transit and at rest, restricted server access, and regular security updates. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise your data is invulnerable — but we treat it like it's our own.

Disclaimers

Knoc is provided "as is," and we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding its operation, functionality, or suitability for any particular purpose. We are not responsible for any damages, including but not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, arising from your use of the platform.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

If we change these Terms in a meaningful way, we'll post the updated Terms here and notify you by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes every time. Continuing to use Knoc after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
