Assisting Neighbors by Submitting Evidence
When an incident happens in your neighborhood, your evidence—like security footage, photos, or observations—could make a big difference. With Knoc, you can easily share what you’ve got to help a neighbor in need. Here’s how to do it:
1. Respond to Text or Email Notification
Once you receive a notification please promptly review the provided link.
2. Check Your Cameras for Evidence
Check your security cameras, phone photos, or notes for anything matching the request (e.g., footage from 7:00 PM on March 20, 2025, or a photo of a suspicious car).
Even small details—like hearing a loud noise—can help.
3. Respond to the Request
Open the neighbor’s request.
Review their incident and upload any found evidence on the provided form.
4. Upload Your Evidence
Use the “Upload” button to add files:
- Videos (e.g., doorbell cam clips).
- Photos (e.g., a snapshot from your window).
- Text (e.g., “I saw a red van speeding off at 7:05 PM”).
Ensure files are clear and relevant—trim long videos if possible.
5. Submit and Follow Up
Hit “Send” to share your evidence with the requester.
If they reply with questions (e.g., “Can you zoom in?”), check your Knoc.us inbox and respond.
Tips for Helping Out
- Act Fast: Evidence is most useful right after an incident.
- Be Clear: Label your uploads (e.g., “Front yard cam, 3/20/25, 7:02 PM”) so it’s easy to understand.
- Stay Neighborly: A quick “Hope this helps!” builds community trust.
Why It Matters
Sharing evidence doesn’t just help one neighbor—it strengthens your whole community. Plus, if you ever need help, others will be more likely to step up.
